The ultimate question(s)

Before I begin this, let me make it known that I'm a Christian and a strong believer of God's word. I go to church but not as often as i should.
The question is "Have our lives been planned out or we're living according to our choices?". Many may jump to conclusion that we're living by choices but is it really true? If you ask me, I still don't know the answer after about 4 years of searching. I don't really know much of the scripture but i know that at a point, it says that God knew us even before we were born. He knows our beginning and end. He knows who'll be in heaven and who won't be. He's all-knowing. That means he knows the choices we'll make. Let's say Kofi is born. God knows his end; he'll be in heaven. Kofi starts out as a bad boy. He makes all his choices and repents and gets to heaven. God knew this. Is it right to say there was no point in him coming to earth? It's not my place to say. Then there's Ama. She'll be in hell. God knows this. She lives her whole life trying to do things right but she dies a sinner. Is it fair to her? I can't say.
Lets move on the lines that our lives have been planned out. That means everyone will be at a certain point at every point in time. Kofi will marry Ama. But Kofi's whole life, he's loved someone else. Then something happens and he ends up with Ama. Obviously, he loving someone else was part of the plan. Kofi will be an architect. His whole life he wanted to be one but didn't have money for school. He ended up being an architect by some 'miracle'. Does this mean that no matter what you do, whatever plan that's been set out for you will happen?
Now let's consider the situation that our lives are by our choices. Will that mean that whatever we will be will depend on us? If so, it obviously means God knows our choices and that in the end he knows what we will be. It's true that we have free will but is it free will if every action we'll take is known and that God knows where we'll be in the end? I'm confused myself. I don't even know if i should be asking these questions. But like U. Peter said, "Today if you're not confused, you're just not thinking clearly". When i ask people, they just tell me to live life the way it is. That's what I'm doing. But when I watch movies like The Adjustment Bureau, Inception and Stranger than Fiction, i know someone out there shares my thoughts too.

  1. A story is told of Hezekiah in the Bible...He was supposed to die but He prayed and it never happened...I believe things can be changed...we can reason out things with God so to speak.
